Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Butter your ramekins or muffin pan

Cover apple slices with lemon juice and water and place them on a plate, overlapping slightly if necessary. Microwave on High about 45 seconds to soften the apples a bit. Or 10 minutes in the hot oven.
Roll slightly puff pastry to less than a 1/8 inch thickness. Cut 3 2-inch by 12-inch rectangles in each sheet.
spread melted butter or jam (or both) over dough, add a generous amount of cinnamon
place apple slices along 1 long edge of dough overlapping slices slightly. Fold bottom half of dough to form a long ‘folder’
beat egg and water together, use the egg wash to spread dough, sprinkle with more cinnamon and some sugar to taste
starting from one end, roll dough not too tightly (otherwise dough won’t cook properly) to form a rose-shaped pastry.
transfer roses to prepared pan or ramekins. SPrinkle with a little more cinnamon -sugar. Place pan on middle rack.
bake until well browned about 45/55 minutes. Let roses cool down 5-10 minutes before removing from pan.
Dust with confectioner’s sugar before serving.
