Ingredients
Bosc pears 3
brown sugar (or honey) 2 tbs.
vanilla 2 tsp.
rhum 3 tbs.
cinnamon sticks 2
raisin 1 or 2 tbs
amaretto cookies (opt.) 3 broken
vanilla ice-cream or yogurt to serve (opt.)
Directions
Pre-heat the oven at 425*. (on roast/bake). Arrange the pears cut side down in an 8-inch square glass baking dish. Cover them with water, add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon sticks (break them in smaller pieces if you like) and rum. Keep the raisin and the amaretto cookies for later.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and put it on the middle rack for about 20 minutes. Uncover and let the pears brown (for about 20 more minutes or longer). If you notice that the pears are drying up add more water. Remove from the oven and add raisin and amaretto cookies while the dish is still hot.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or yogurt.
